Powerball® players closed out the week on a winning streak, with two more tickets hitting the Powerball jackpot in last night’s drawing!

The latest jackpot winning tickets were sold in Florida and Texas. Each ticket matched all six numbers drawn last night – white balls 25, 37, 42, 52, 65, and red Powerball 14. The Power Play® multiplier was 3.

The two winning tickets will split the $20 million jackpot. Each winner may choose between an annuitized prize of $10 million or a one time lump sum payment of $4.5 million, before applicable taxes.

Another notable win occurred in Georgia, where a ticket matched all five white balls and included the Power Play option to win $2 million.

Saturday’s drawing marks the first time this year that Powerball has produced jackpot winners in back-to-back drawings. The last time Powerball saw back to back jackpot wins was in 2021.

“This was an incredible week for Powerball players across the country,” said Matt Strawn, Powerball Product Group Chair and Iowa Lottery CEO. “We typically see high volumes of winners when the jackpot approaches a billion dollars, but experiencing this level of winning activity at a much lower advertised jackpot is truly extraordinary.”

In the previous Powerball drawing on Wednesday, April 29, two tickets sold in Indiana (Hoosier) and Kansas shared a $143 million jackpot. That drawing also produced an unprecedented number of Match 5 winners. The Match 5 prize is a set cash prize of $1 million (except in California, where prizes are pari mutuel and determined by ticket sales and the number of winners).

A total of 27 Match 5 winners increased their prizes to $2 million by adding the Power Play option for an additional $1 per play.

April 29 drawing highlights include:

2 jackpot-winning tickets in Indiana and Kansas

62 Match 5 winning tickets sold across 17 states

27 Match 5 + Power Play® tickets sold across 12 states

Game leaders believe the unusually high number of Match 5 winners may be linked to a common number selection pattern used by players. In that drawing, the winning white ball numbers appeared in a single vertical column on many play slips.

Players can be assured that all prizes are fully funded. Powerball maintains sufficient prize reserves to support million dollar payouts, even in drawings where the number of high tier winners significantly exceeds statistical expectations.

For the next drawing on Monday night, the Powerball jackpot resets to $20 million. The Power Play® 10X multiplier will be available for play since the advertised jackpot is below $150 million.
